We just launched our new high school football Website today at www.myindianafootball.com. This is our second major new site release in a month. Now we just have a revised colts.com to tackle, which we hope to have live by August 15, and we’re done with “new” sites for a while.
Here’s a glimpse at the high school site:
If you check out the page, you’ll notice that Tony Dungy, Joe Ehrmann and Paul Condry are blogging for us. Each of their blogs actually lives on our social networking site (mycolts). This is a tactic we’ll use again when the new colts.com site launches. Much of our content from mycolts and the high school sites will be promoted on colts.com, but users will click through to the other sites to reach.
The basic idea for the high school site is for each team to have what we (the Colts have) a way to publish the info that they want to publish about their team. The work will be done by a school appointed administrator, typically students, parents or coaches. All pages are linked and searchable across a giant database.
Fans who are registered inside mycolts can become ‘friends’ with high school teams (at h.s. moderator’s discretion) and their photos will appear on the high school teams’ pages. Also, we provide a drop down list of “channels” on each of our three sites so that users can toggle easily between them. Once registered, fans can access mycolts and colts.com with the same username and password.
