Economics of Social Media, hello L.A.!

I’m out in sunny Cali today attending the Economics of Social Media conference. Very excited to hear from industry leaders like:

Shawn Gold from Myspace. Perhaps he’ll talk about how they resolved the recent spat with Photobucket? And I’ve been hearing more and more lately from kids who lose interest in MySpace and move to Facebook as they get older. Is this really happening? Are the younger kids filling in from underneath? Or are other “niche” communities chipping away at the big tuna? I also wonder if he’ll shave for his appearance here today :-)

Michael Birch from Bebo. I don’t know anything about Bebo other than I hear it’s great and growing fast. It’ll be interesting to learn how they’re doing it.

David Eun, VP Content Partnerships, Google Unlike the guys above, I’d like to hear from David about how he does what he does. I’m starting to chat with folks about content partnerships with our new site (mycolts.net), which will launch in beta beta beta later this month.

In between sessions I’ll be meeting with various friends I’ve already made in this wacky 2.0 “space”, and I’m looking forward to seeing technologies from companies like LiveHive Systems, FanRocket and kickapps.
