Alexa Rankings – NFL Team Sites

I was curious how our current Website stacks up against other teams in the league, so I visited ALEXA and took a look. The following list shows all NFL teams from most traffic to least. The number to the right of each URL is the Alexa ranking which shows how the site stacks up with all other sites on the Web, not just NFL Sites.

Looks like we’ve got some work to do. Despite research that indicates our fan base is the third largest in the NFL, our Web traffic is in the bottom half of the league.

I might assume that our low ranking would be a result of our relatively small market size, but teams like San Diego, and Cincinnati rank ahead of us while larger markets like Detroit, NY Jets and Houston rank below the Colts.

Success on the field (or lack thereof) probably influences the rankings, but then how do you explain the Bucs, Packers and Eagles who all rank in the top 10 despite having their challenges on the field this year?
